If you’re minding your budget, but still looking to fill your belly as Romans do, you should give a try to the trattoria pizzeria I Molisani. Since 1980, this small, family owned and operated charming trattoria has been serving amazing food in a pleasant atmosphere. With an address on prestigious, Piazza Fiume, I Molisani is located only a short stroll from the famous Spanish Steps, and within easy walking distance of romantic Trevi Fountain.

Also nearby is Via Veneto, noted as the setting for Federico Fellini’s film masterpiece, “La Dolce Vita.” I Molisani serve excellent and cheap Italian food with real roman flavor: the polpette , lasagna, rigatoni amatriciana, meat dishes, and of course, every kind of pizza are house specialties. This typical Italian trattoria is frequented by locals and great for budget minded travelers.

This is a place to have a dinner in Rome for those who want to arrive as a tourist but depart as a Roman. In fact, no large commercial restaurant can match the charm of the I Molisani. During the summer it is possible to enjoy their specialties also on the outdoors tables. Pizzeria I Molisani (www.imolisani.com) is open daily except on Wednesday.
