After the first appearance in the heart of Rome, the Tourist Angels are landed at the Leonardo da Vinci airport. The boys riding chariot-shaped Segways with the colors and emblem of the City of Rome, provide in six languages (Italian, English, Spanish, German, Chinese and Japanese) information on cabs rates or on places of interest in the Capital. The “angels” even speed to rescue lost visitors and help them make their way through Rome.

Between curiosity and interest, passengers, mostly foreigners, have shown they like the idea of the city’s tourism chief and Rome’s deputy mayor Mauro Cutrufo. The first two ‘mobile pits’ of the 16 located on an experimental basis until January 8 in the most popular among tourists as airports, train stations and Rome centre, have made their appearance this morning at the Leonardo da Vinci airport. “Tourists are very pleased with this new service – says Simona, one of two Tourist Angels – As a spot of mobile information we can satisfy their Rome holidays questions especially regarding the connections and relative rates between the airport and the centre of Rome. They ask us also news about museums, art galleries , travel attractions, restaurants and shows.

It is not difficult driving the “Segway”, who walks at a speed of 6 km per hour, ensures the Tourist Angel wearing a yellow sweatshirt that said ‘Ask me’ stamped on the back – Just have a little equilibrium and nothing else. ” “First-class initiative by the city of Rome – Michael says in a halting Italian, an Englishman just landed at the airport – Having the opportunity to request updated information about everything you can do and see in Rome is central to travelers that are going to spend their holidays in Rome” .
