“Easy Rome” fresh information for holidays in Rome
‘Easy Rome’ is the name of a fresh travel guide written in five languages that will be diffused free of charge to travelers and holidaymakers at tourism information points and hotels. The aim of this guide is to help tourists with useful advice avoiding scams and unwelcome situations during their Holidays in Rome. It includes information on religion, weather and shopping hours. It also provides updated information on transportation schedules, parking, traffic areas with limitations and parking areas for campers.
The ‘Easy Rome’ guide promoted by the City of Rome, which printed 2,000 copies in Italian and English, 5,000 in Spanish, and 1,000 in Portuguese, will be available at tourism expos, information points and on the streets by the Tourist Angels, the boys riding chariot-shaped segways with the colours and emblem of the City of Rome.
Forty pages which in addition to spotlight artistic-cultural and food and wine-related itineraries, list the main shopping streets and most crucial museums, and provides advice on how to check prices before getting in restaurants and bars or verifying the cost of goods sold in shops, which must be showed in the shop windows. One of the initial warnings involves cabs: a bookmark warn: “a rate increase for trips to and from the airports is being approved”. The guide advises also “to respect the soul of Rome”, not consuming food and drink near the monuments and fountains or dressing improper clothing in churches.
